My Friend, Jon Gallas

My friend Jon struggles with mental illness, but he also knew the truth about Jesus Christ. Because of this, I can have hope that I will see him again someday.

This very hope is what lead me to start The One Seven Foundation to raise funds for those struggling with mental illness, depression, or suicide.

The goal? To help anyone struggling with these issues to get back on track and to share the hope of Jesus Christ with them.

Jonathan Mark Gallas passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 16, 2011. Jon was born on November 17, 1996 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. He was the son of Thomas Gallas and Jacquelyn Gallas-Bruns.

Jon was a 1986 graduate of Hartland Arrowhead High School, where he participated in gymnastics, track, and swing choir. Jon received a degree in Communications from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh. Jon had a love for skiing whether it was snow or water. Jon had many passions which included spending time with family & friends, fishing and hunting. Although he was a young entrepreneur starting “Super Sealers” with friends Scott and dave in high school, he would go on to be self-employed as a Real Estate Professional.

Jon leaves to charish his memory father, Thomas Gallas; mother & step-father Jacquelyn & Gary Bruns; Brothers Joseph and Jeffery (Lynelle) Galas, and Sister Jennifer. He also leaves to cherish his memory aunts, uncles, cousins and special life-long friends.
